Ojos Abiertos Films organises the cycle “Celebrando Nuestro Cine” in collaboration with the CAC Málaga.

The distribution company Ojos Abiertos Films has programmed the cycle “Celebrating our cinema” together with the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (CAC) of Málaga in commemoration of the Spanish Cinema Day which was celebrated on the 6th of October. This cycle screened four films every Tuesday of the past month at 19:00 in the auditorium of this entity and also featured various dialogues between Davinia Burgos, head of the distribution company, and the creators and artists who came to present their works. Throughout this cycle, the documentaries Fosforito, una historia de flamenco (2021) was screened with the presence of its director, Alejandro Barrientos; Una mañana fría (2019) by Raquel Troyano; Dreamers (2022) with the attendance of Esther Yáñez and Eva Jiménez; and the fictional work Isósceles (2022), which closed the curtain with the director, Ignacio Nacho.

This cycle has brought nationally produced cinema closer to the public and is part of the various initiatives carried out during Spanish Cinema Day to highlight its importance as a cultural heritage, a generator of a common identity and imaginary and of the diversity of the audiovisual sector. In addition, during the programming of the works, Davinia Burgos has taken care to ensure that this exhibition also serves as an audiovisual showcase for Malaga artists. In this way, thanks to Malaga City Council, the participation of Ojos Abiertos Films and the artists who have offered their works for viewing, it has been possible to celebrate this day with a month full of Spanish cinema.
